Meet Shawn Klein
Shawn Klein grew up on small farm outside of Wichita, Kansas, where his Dad also owned an automotive machine shop. This is where Shawn achieved his mechanical aptitude and love for engines. He had no formal diesel tech training or degree. What he learned in diesel technology was by hard work, on the job training, and a desire for self-improvement.
Right out of high school Shawn got a job at a Chevrolet dealership. Hence, he still drives a Silverado. From there he worked for a truck fleet, and eventually joined up with Truck Center Companies in Wichita. Shawn has been employed with TCC for 17 years, the last nine as a dealer trainer at the Technical Advancement Center in Omaha. Shawn shares training duties at TAC with two other full-time trainers, Kenny Smith and Keith Lund. They keep the Truck Center Companies diesel technicians and customers’ techs up to speed on the latest changes in diesel technology.
Shawn has achieved many of his personal and professional goals in life. His latest achievement is being named Thomas Built Buses dealer trainer of the year for the central region of the USA. Congratulations, Shawn!
